Top 3 Weight Gain Supplements For Men

weight gainers for men

Believe it or not, not everyone has an easy time with gaining weight. These supplements are an excellent way for men to get the extra calories and macronutrients they need to pack on lean muscle mass without excess fat.

The trouble most men have with trying to gain weight is either not getting enough calories, or getting too many of the wrong calories (mainly complex carbs vs simple carbs).  These weight gainers combine quality ingredients and a ratio of complex carbohydrates and quality proteins to help you gain good weight.

Pro Complex Gainer is not an exception. This weight gainer is what all weight gainers should look up to. This is especially useful for people who have a hard time eating more frequently, since complex carbs and casein are absorbed slower by your body. This allows your body to basically get a slow drip of nutrition throughout the day.  Read more…

Monster Mass

Monster Mass comes from one of the oldest supplement companies in the game, CytoSport. Monster Mass is a step up from their other popular weight gainer CytoGainer as it has both slow release and fast releasing carbs. This type of weight gainer is best taken either post workout or early in the morning to take full advantage of both type of carbohydrates. Its macronutrient breakdown comes down to 600 calories per serving with 50 grams of protein, 74 grams of carbohydrates, and 18 grams of fat.

It also contains a good amount of BCAA’s and 5 different types of proteins (fast release: whey protein hydrolysate and whey isolate – slow release: milk protein concentrate, milk protein isolate, and micellar casein.)

To be honest, their sales page for this supplement looks a bit too overcomplicated for what they’re trying to convey, but it’s still a solid weight gainer. Mixes well straight in a shaker bottle with milk or water, and also tastes amazing. Read more…

Bulking Notes

The goal is to get an excess of 350–500+ calories per day on top of how many calories will use. This will depend on your activity level, and especially on your body type (endomorph, mesomorph, or ectomoroph). If you are not seeing results after a few weeks, it’s time to step up the calorie intake from either your diet or weight gainer. You can also check out some more of our recommended supplements for bulking by clicking here.

On the other hand, if you’re gaining weight too fast, in which case it’s more than likely excess fat, cut down on the calories. It’s not worth gaining a bunch of fat in hopes of muscle, only to spend more time and effort trying to lose the fat at the end. Gaining weight should not mean gaining fat; you should still be trying to get a good ratio of macronutrients.
